Conference Policies & Code of Conduct

Conference Policies

The ACBSP Region 1 Conference is committed to providing a professional, respectful, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes learning, collaboration, and the free exchange of ideas. All participants—including attendees, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests—are expected to comply with the following policies throughout the conference.

Professional Conduct

Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times. Courtesy, integrity, and mutual respect should guide all interactions during conference activities.

Respectful and Inclusive Environment

The conference welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and perspectives. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or exclusionary behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.

Academic Integrity

Presenters and participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic honesty and integrity. All research, presentations, and materials should appropriately acknowledge the work of others and comply with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Given this year's conference theme, presenters are encouraged to use Artificial Intelligence responsibly and transparently. Where AI-assisted tools have significantly contributed to presentation materials or research, presenters should acknowledge their use when appropriate.

Conference Registration

All attendees, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, and invited guests must complete conference registration before participating in conference activities.Conference badges must be worn and visibly displayed throughout the event.

Photography and Recording

Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise indicated by the presenter.Recording of presentations—including video, audio, or live streaming—is prohibited without the express permission of the presenter and the Conference Planning Committee.By attending the conference, participants acknowledge that photographs and video recordings may be taken for promotional and archival purposes by the conference organizers.

Presentation Materials

Presentation slides, handouts, and conference materials remain the intellectual property of the respective authors unless otherwise stated.Participants may not reproduce or distribute presentation materials without permission.

 Health and Safety

Participants are expected to follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures established by Essex County College and local authorities. Emergency exits and evacuation procedures will be reviewed at the beginning of the conference.

 Personal Property

Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings.The conference organizers and Essex County College are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.


Code of Conduct

The ACBSP Region 1 Conference strives to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and safe.

All participants agree to:

  • Treat others with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
  • Engage in constructive dialogue and respectful discussion.
  • Respect speakers, presenters, moderators, and fellow attendees.
  • Encourage collaboration and professional networking.
  • Uphold the principles of academic honesty and ethical scholarship.
  • Use AI technologies responsibly and ethically.
  • Respect the confidentiality of unpublished research and proprietary information.
  • Follow all conference policies and venue guidelines.

Privacy Statement

Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for conference administration, communication, and event management and will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and institutional policies.

 

Agreement
